Teenage girls sent on mankind's first attempt to colonize another planet
After discovering a 'nearby' habitable planet, mankind makes its first attempt to colonize another planet. Near lightspeed travel means that the first settlers can get there in under 20 years. But, resource limitations means that only a small group of settlers can be sent, and there is no chance of a return trip.
In order to colonize the planet, they need to maximize the number of women on the trip. In addition, the women need to still be fertile after the 20 years of travel plus the time it takes to establish a stable base of operations on the new planet.
After much debate, it is decided to send a team consisting entirely of highly gifted, young teenage girls. During the 20 year journey they will study and train for the required skills they will need for survival. If they succeed in creating a livable space on the new planet, they will then breed though artificial insemination, and become the mother's of a new earth.
But, long before they reach the planet trouble is already brewing. They realize that mission control really has no power to enforce any rules. And soon they will cross the point of no return. The farther they travel on the journey, the longer it takes to communicate with earth.
What will happen as this team genius girls goes through puberty with no one to watch over them, no one to stop them, and no way to escape from each other?
